Feminine hygiene products
Quantity Needed: 900
More than 300 girls at Kilimani Primary School in Elmdy, Isiolo County are facing a quiet but devastating barrier to their education. Because of extreme poverty, many cannot afford sanitary pads. As a result, they miss school each month, fall behind in their studies, and in some cases become vulnerable to exploitation or early marriage simply to meet this basic need. The PAD Drive Campaign seeks to provide sanitary pads, menstrual hygiene education and mental health support so these girls can attend school with confidence and dignity. By meeting this essential need, we help protect their safety, strengthen their wellbeing and keep them learning. When we stand with these girls, we are not just providing supplies. We are safeguarding their futures and affirming their right to education, opportunity and hope.
Mattress
Quantity Needed: 18
Alupe Special School is home to about 200 children living with different disabilities. They are beautiful children. Bright. Loving. Full of life. And they are surrounded by teachers and staff who give more than their job requires. They give their hearts.

This boarding school runs on faith. Many parents can barely afford school fees. Government grants delay. Some families cannot even afford transport to visit their children, so the school has quietly become a safe place for many who have nowhere else to go. Although it was established for the hearing impaired, it now cares for children with autism, cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, and many others who need support every single hour of the day. The staff stretch themselves thin. Management is often away knocking on doors, visiting companies and other schools, asking for food, soap, toothpaste, sanitary towels. They are constantly looking for help.

You may wonder why those basic needs were not the first thing we appealed for as Kosi Africa. The truth is they are important, but there is something just as urgent that has been overlooked for years. The children sleep on thin, worn out mattresses. They share a single mattress. Some sleep on the floor. One bed was slanting. Others had metal wires sticking out in ways that could easily cause harm. After a full day of learning, this is where they lay their heads at night.

Imagine being a child who already faces so much, then going to sleep in those conditions. Rest should not be a luxury. It should not be something they have to endure. They need real rest. Let us give them the kind of rest every child deserves.

In many underprivileged communities, children are growing up without access to consistent education, healthcare or emotional support. Poverty continues to limit opportunity, leaving many young people without the tools they need to build stable futures. Swanakids Trust works to break this cycle by providing children with access to schooling, nourishment, medical care and ongoing emotional support. One young boy, Kitso, joined the program at age 10 having never attended school. Previously sent to work in the fields to support his family, education felt out of reach. With support, he is now thriving academically and dreams of becoming a teacher to help other children in his village. There are many more children like Kitso who need practical resources to stay in school and remain healthy. Swanakids Trust is seeking donated items to strengthen its programs and continue providing opportunity, dignity and hope to vulnerable children.
Wheelchair
Quantity Needed: 5
The lack and inadequacy of wheelchair service provision, like many of the other assistive device service provisions, is the main limiting factor of enabling People With Spinal Cord Injuries (PWSCIs)to attain an optimum quality of life, particularly in developing Tanzania. The development and establishment of these services have been extremely inadequate due to several factors, such as lower priority given within the health sector, lack of trained personnel, service facilities, distribution, financing, and viable policies. This project is designed for the purpose of enabling people with PWSCIs in Tanzania to have access to affordable and appropriate wheelchair services.
Women in particular face ‘double discrimination’ and all our programmes make special provision for advancing the position of disabled women. Songambele is working to tackle the stigma and exclusion faced by individuals who are disabled and female.

Discrimination leads to the denial of their human rights and to their living in poverty. This project will challenge the discrimination faced by disabled women, helping them to access their right to work and employment and lift themselves out of poverty.
Songambele Initiative Organization has observed that the demand for wheelchairs is increasing tremendously due to accidents, violence and diseases. It was further estimated that most people who need a wheelchair don’t have one, and those who do often have wheelchairs that are of poor quality and do little to contribute to the socioeconomic integration of wheelchair users. This situation is affecting people with disabilities from receiving an education, marrying, having families, working to support themselves or their families, or otherwise participating in their communities.
Imported wheelchairs from abroad are usually not appropriate for conditions in Africa and developing countries in general, as they have been designed for indoor home and institutional use and cannot be repaired
Bluetooth speaker
Quantity Needed: 5
In this remote community, there is no access to radio, television or reliable internet. Information that many of us take for granted simply does not reach people here. A portable Bluetooth speaker allows community workers to play pre-loaded audio messages during group gatherings, ensuring important information can be shared with everyone at once. The speaker is used to deliver health messages, safety updates, education content and community announcements. It is a simple but powerful tool that helps connect people, support learning and make sure no one is left out because of where they live.
Basketball hoop
Quantity Needed: 2
In the dusty courts of Bungoma County, where poverty casts long shadows and high rates of physical and sexual violence trap girls in cycles of early school dropout, teenage pregnancy, and shattered dreams, 14-year-old Nelima once felt invisible. Overstretched public services offered little help, and prevention efforts were scarce. But Imarisha Usawa saw her potential, and the power of basketball to rewrite her story.
It started with a dribble. Nelima joined our community basketball program, a tool for change that draws in girls like her alongside families, coaches, educators, elders, and local leaders. On the court, she learned more than crossovers and jump shots. Coaches taught her to recognize red flags of violence and speak up, while elders shared stories of norm change, shifting mindsets that once normalized inequality. Her mother attended family sessions, unlearning harmful beliefs and becoming her fiercest advocate. Educators linked the team to school retention support, breaking the dropout chain.
Basketball built Nelima's leadership. She captained her team, organized drills that doubled as confidence workshops, and led peer circles on body autonomy and goal-setting. Today, Nelima dreams of coaching the next generation, her grades soaring and her voice echoing in community forums.

Imarisha Usawa's prevention focused approach works because it unites everyone: girls empowered on the court, families transformed at home, and leaders driving lasting change. But we need your help to strengthen our work by creating better safe spaces. Across all wards in Bungoma, we lack basketball courts that are our safe spaces. Please support our aspirations to provide safe spaces for girls to thrive.
