Bags and Purses

School bags are urgently needed to support teenage mothers and vulnerable children learning through Mthunzi Foundation. Many students face barriers to education simply because they lack basic items required to attend school prepared and with confidence. A school bag allows students to safely carry books, learning materials, and personal belongings, helping them stay organised, focused, and engaged in their education. For teenage mothers, having the right school supplies makes it easier to continue learning while balancing the responsibilities of motherhood. As the saying goes, “If you educate a woman, you educate a nation.” By providing school bags, donors help remove practical obstacles and give young people the tools they need to stay in school and build skills for the future.

Girls with disabilities in Mangochi, Malawi are determined to attend school and build independent futures, yet many are missing basic personal essentials that support their comfort and confidence. Without appropriate undergarments, including bras, some girls experience discomfort, embarrassment and reduced participation in class and school activities. The Centre for Disability and Elderly Affairs (CDEA) is seeking donations of new bras (sizes 32A–38C) to support underprivileged girls with disabilities in the community. Something so simple can help restore dignity, strengthen self-esteem and create a more inclusive learning environment where every girl feels comfortable and respected. By contributing these essential items, you are helping remove practical barriers to education and ensuring that girls with disabilities can attend school with confidence. Together, we can support their wellbeing and help create a more inclusive and hopeful future in Mangochi.

In Chikwawa and Nsanje, Southern Malawi, many children with disabilities face barriers to learning that keep them excluded from school. Through the Inclusion in Learning initiative, children with visual and physical disabilities received school bags, stationery, braille kits, and access-friendly support such as desks and ramps, allowing them to participate in class with confidence and dignity. This support has helped children attend school regularly, engage in learning, and believe in their futures. Continued assistance will ensure more children with disabilities can learn alongside their peers in safe, inclusive classrooms where their abilities, not their limitations, define them.
