Bed and mattress - Single
Beds and Mattresses for 20 Vulnerable Older People in Zomba, Malawi In remote villages across Zomba District, Malawi, 20 vulnerable older people aged over 70 are living in extreme poverty, many without a bed, mattress or adequate bedding. Some sleep on thin reed mats or directly on cold, hard floors in homes that offer limited protection from the weather. These conditions make everyday life particularly difficult and can negatively affect their health, comfort and wellbeing. Many of these older people live alone, while others are caring for orphaned grandchildren despite having very limited financial resources. Purchasing basic necessities such as a bed or mattress is simply beyond their means. The Centre for Disability and Elderly Affairs (CDEA), a community-based organisation in Malawi supporting people with disabilities and vulnerable older people, has identified 20 individuals who urgently need assistance. The organisation is seeking donations of 20 beds, 20 mattresses and essential bedding, including blankets and sheets, to provide safer, warmer and more comfortable sleeping conditions. Your donation of a bed, mattress or bedding can make a meaningful difference, improving comfort, supporting health and wellbeing, and helping restore dignity to older people who deserve a safe and comfortable place to rest.
