SDK Deru (a Catholic private primary school) is one of 114 partner schools of Taman Bacaan Pelangi (TBP) in Nagekeo District, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. Since 2022, the school has run a child-friendly library program in partnership with TBP, giving more than 100 students each year access to quality books and a love of reading. On 19 December 2025, tragedy struck when a fire destroyed the school library along with every book inside it. For students who had grown used to reading, borrowing, and dreaming through books, this loss was deeply felt. Today, they urgently need new, high-quality books so their learning journey can continue.

Across underserved communities in Nigeria and Uganda, millions of children and young people grow up without consistent access to education, books, digital tools, or safe learning spaces. Poverty, displacement, insecurity, and weak infrastructure often mean that school is irregular—or entirely out of reach. Yet these communities are rich in potential: curious children and resilient youths who only need access and opportunity to thrive.

Giddy2School exists to bridge this gap.

Founded to reduce school dropouts and expand access to quality learning, Giddy2School works with children, youths, and community educators to create inclusive pathways into literacy, education, digital skills, and self-reliance. Our interventions are designed to be practical, scalable, and rooted in the realities of low-resource environments.

What We Do

Giddy2School delivers community-based education and empowerment through a blend of literacy development, youth leadership, skills training, and technology-enabled learning. We focus particularly on out-of-school children, youths in informal settlements, and marginalized communities where learning resources are scarce.

To learn more, visit www.giddy2school.org
