Writing<br />Statement of the Problem<br />The prolonged crisis in Karim Lamido Local Government Area of Taraba State has left many families in deep hardship. Many local residents have been forced to flee their homes and seek safety in host communities in neighbouring Lau LGA. They left behind their homes, farms, sources of income and, in many cases, family members who were killed or lost during the crisis.<br />Among those affected are children who have lost one or both parents. They now live in host communities with relatives, other families or people who have taken them in despite having very limited resources of their own. Life for these children is extremely difficult. Most have no reliable source of livelihood or financial support to meet their daily needs.<br />The hardship is also affecting their education. Many of the children have been forced to stay out of school because their families or caregivers cannot afford school fees, uniforms, learning materials and other basic school requirements. Some children who were once in school now spend their days at home, while others struggle to survive with little hope of continuing their education.<br />During our interventions in the affected host communities in Lau LGA, we identified 20 children whose conditions are particularly critical. These children have lost parental care and are living in difficult circumstances, with little or no means of meeting their basic needs. Their situation requires urgent support to prevent further suffering and help them return to school.<br />We are therefore seeking support for these 20 vulnerable children, particularly to cover essential needs such as school fees, school uniforms, learning materials and basic welfare support. This assistance will give these children an opportunity to return to school, regain a sense of stability and have hope for a better future despite the crisis they have experienced.

Girls with disabilities in Mangochi, Malawi are determined to attend school and build independent futures, yet many are missing basic personal essentials that support their comfort and confidence. Without appropriate undergarments, including bras, some girls experience discomfort, embarrassment and reduced participation in class and school activities. The Centre for Disability and Elderly Affairs (CDEA) is seeking donations of new bras (sizes 32A–38C) to support underprivileged girls with disabilities in the community. Something so simple can help restore dignity, strengthen self-esteem and create a more inclusive learning environment where every girl feels comfortable and respected. By contributing these essential items, you are helping remove practical barriers to education and ensuring that girls with disabilities can attend school with confidence. Together, we can support their wellbeing and help create a more inclusive and hopeful future in Mangochi.
