This request supports 500 elderly women with disabilities in Mangochi District, Southern Malawi, who struggle to access clean water due to a lack of basic containers. Without buckets, many are unable to collect water safely, affecting their health, hygiene, and independence. Providing buckets of different sizes will help these women meet daily needs with greater dignity, reduce health risks, and ease the burden on their families.

This request supports vulnerable elderly people aged 65 to 90 across Malawi who are living in extreme poverty without basic sleeping furniture. Many seniors sleep on the floor or torn mats, worsening existing health conditions and robbing them of dignity in their later years. Providing beds and mattresses will improve comfort, health, and safety, allowing elderly people to rest properly and live with greater dignity and care.

Severe flooding across Southern Malawi has displaced thousands of people, including an estimated 5,000 people with disabilities in districts such as Chikwawa and Nsanje. Many lost their homes, mobility aids, and essential belongings as floodwaters swept through villages, making evacuation and daily survival extremely difficult. People with disabilities are among the most vulnerable in this crisis. Without access to wheelchairs, blankets, food, and basic medical support, many are stranded in unsafe conditions and exposed to cold, illness, and further harm. Immediate assistance is needed to restore dignity, mobility, and safety as families begin the long process of recovery.

In Chikwawa and Nsanje, Southern Malawi, many children with disabilities face barriers to learning that keep them excluded from school. Through the Inclusion in Learning initiative, children with visual and physical disabilities received school bags, stationery, braille kits, and access-friendly support such as desks and ramps, allowing them to participate in class with confidence and dignity. This support has helped children attend school regularly, engage in learning, and believe in their futures. Continued assistance will ensure more children with disabilities can learn alongside their peers in safe, inclusive classrooms where their abilities, not their limitations, define them.
